What can you do after GNM? Roles, registration and higher study

Registration as a nurse with the West Bengal Nursing Council (WBNC), staff nurse roles across hospital departments, community health posts, and the route to Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing later on.

Annapurna Nursing Institute

On completion you register with the West Bengal Nursing Council (WBNC) and can practise as a nurse. Our graduates work as staff nurses across medical, surgical, critical care, maternity and paediatric units, and in community and public health roles.

GNM also opens the route to further qualifications later — Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing and specialist training — if you decide to move into teaching, administration or a specialty.

The internship that gets you there

The final six months are spent on rotation as an intern — medical and surgical wards, maternity, paediatrics and community health — carrying real responsibility under supervision before you register as a nurse.
