Can an Arts or Commerce student do GNM nursing in West Bengal?

Yes — and this is the single most misunderstood rule in nursing admissions. GNM eligibility asks for a 10+2 pass in any stream with 40% aggregate and a pass in English. Science is not required. Thousands of Humanities students rule themselves out of a nursing career every year for no reason.

Entrance exam

The WBJEEB ANM & GNM entrance is a Class 10 paper — not Class 12

Most websites state the syllabus level wrongly. The paper is 1½ hours of multiple choice, set at secondary standard, and bilingual in Bengali and English except for the English and Logical Reasoning sections.
